Extraordinary entrepreneurs don’t just wake up successful. They use a combination of passion, hard work and daily rituals to help them reach their goals. From Mark Zuckerburg to Daymond John, there is something to be learnt from their routines. That’s why we’ve chosen just five daily rituals that could change your life and help you get to where you want to be.
Minimise your choices
Planning ahead and minimising your choices can do wonders for keeping your mind clear. The perfect example of this is Mark Zuckerberg. His signature jeans and a hoodie style isn’t an accident. It is his clear personal style that represents his personal brand. And by opting for his signature style daily, he minimises his choices and doesn’t waste time picking out clothes; he frees up his mind to think about the important things.
You can do the same by the night before, and preparing for your day before you go to sleep. This minimises the amount of choices you have to make the next day, giving you more time to do what matters.
Start the day off right
A number of CEOs and entrepreneurs cite excise and meditation as the ! Oprah gets up and meditates for at least 20 minutes each morning before working out. This is the perfect way to open your mind, clear your head and prepare yourself for a successful day.
Write a to-do list
Writing a to-do list is another key daily ritual. In fact, some successful entrepreneurs admit to writing more than one list each day. Whether you do this on paper, on your phone or using productivity apps, it’s the best way to keep yourself on track. Plus, it’s a really satisfying feeling to tick things off your list as you reach your daily goals.
Confirm your goals
Daymond John, founder and CEO of FUBU, recently revealed that he sets himself 10 goals. Six of those are to be completed in six months and the others are spaced out over a few years – he then updates these every six months. But more than this, he recites his goals out loud at least twice a day to keep them fresh in his mind. Make a list of your goals and regularly remind yourself what you’re working towards. This will help to keep you on the right track.
Get the balance right
Finally, when it comes to daily rituals you need to make sure you’re getting the balance right. This means finding the line between your personal and professional life. It also means switching off your tech every now and then and taking some time to relax and recharge. While it’s good to be goal orientated, if you never take any time off you might find you eventually burn out. So ensure you take some time to do the things that really light you up.
