Many of us lack self-belief and are too quick to shut ourselves down. Turning away compliments, unable to believe how great we really are. Think about it, how many times have you thought to yourself, ‘I’d love to do that, but…’? Because it’s all too easy to doubt your own abilities. Most of us don’t give ourselves enough credit for what we’re actually capable of, and a lot of the time that is down to our fear of failure.

Self-belief helps to build self-confidence. If you trust in your abilities and you know what you’re capable of, you’ll feel more confident in everything you do. You’ll also be able to make better judgements and trust that you’re making the right decisions.

When you believe in yourself this will show in your attitude. You’ll be happier, more confident and you’ll give off more positive energy. This will not only benefit you, but those around you will feel it too.

 

To understand that failure is ok

Sometimes we are so scared of failing that we shy away from taking any chances. But self-belief allows you to understand that failing is OK, because sometimes it’s just part of the journey. You can learn from it and come back stronger.

Self-belief means you’ll open yourself up to new opportunities. Remove the fear of failure and you’ll be more likely to take risks, start new projects and make big life changes that get you one step closer to your dreams.

Self-belief takes time and practise, but it will open so many doors for you and help you to create the life you really want. Believe in yourself and you’ll find you stop comparing yourself to others because you’re creating the life you want.

How can you build your self-belief? Firstly, keep developing yourself; always try to learn new things or take on new experiences. Stop doubting your abilities, failure is OK, sometimes it’s just part of the journey – remember that! Create daily rituals that work toward your goals and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may seem. This will help you to trust your judgement, decisions and build and sustain your foundation – your self-belief.
